Blue Link - Small Business Edition Released

Are you running your business on one of many entry level management and accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Simply Accounting, MYOB, IOA, etc.? Does this solution continue to adequately support your business needs?

Many of our clients have asked us to find a solution that will cost-effectively address the needs of their growing businesses as:

• the need for more concurrent users surpasses the limitations of their current software;

• support for multiple warehouse locations, and/or bin/shelf identification for inventory is required;

• accurately tracking and accounting for full inventory cost (sometime called landed costing, which includes duty, freight, brokerage etc.) becomes increasingly significant in identifying true costs of inventory;

• increasing business volumes and complexities demand more sophisticated software support, with capabilities to grow into the future.

Blue Link Associates have recently announced the release of their Small Business Edition software package, which we believe meets these requirements and many more much less expensively than competing solutions.

2006 Federal Budget Implications – GST change

Have you considered the impact of pending legislation on the accounting software you use to run your business?

If we assume that the May 2 Federal budget will be passed in parliament, at July 1, 2006, any business transaction that attracts GST/HST has a seemingly simple change to be accommodated – to change the calculation rate.

If you are using any form of computerized system to calculate the tax, regardless of whether that is a sophisticated accounting system, a basic cash register, or a spreadsheet, you will need to ensure that appropriate changes are made.
